Department of Homeland Security, Cybersecurity expert to join FTSummit DC as speaker/panelist
Future of Technology Summit (FTSummit) announces Lisa Barr, Cybersecurity Governance, Federal Network Resilience, Office of Cybersecurity and Communications, National Protection and Programs Directorate, U.S. Department of Homeland Security as a speaker/panelist for FTSummit DC National Security sessions.
Lisa Barr has over 18 years’ experience in the public and private sector leading multi-year, multi-million-dollar information technology, information security and infrastructure protection projects. In her current role in DHS Cybersecurity and Communications, Federal Network Resilience Division, Lisa leads the development of cybersecurity governance guidance and technical assistance to support federal civilian agencies in managing cyber risks.
Previous to this role, Lisa served as the Director for Cyber Policy and Planning in DHS headquarters. There she coordinated DHS’s efforts for completing deliverables under Cybersecurity EO 13800, Strengthening the Cybersecurity of Federal Networks and Critical Infrastructure. She also led the development and release of DHS’s Strategic Principles for Securing the Internet of Things.
She has served in several trusted leadership roles during her nine-year career in DHS, advising Assistant Secretaries in cyber policy and planning, as well as critical infrastructure risk management efforts. Lisa has a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Master’s degree in National Security and Resource Strategy.
